Google Glasses

Is this the next big thing? I was absolutely amazed when I saw this video. It’s basically everything that cellphones have in glasses. This technology will move us forward. What if this was applied to contact lenses?¬†¬†Think of all the applications that can be applied to this. Can you imagine going to school or traveling wearing one of these. I have learned to look through books (and the world) using different lenses, but using the Google glasses is not as metaphoric. You can actually experience a whole new world using these lens. New technology is a gate way to experience a different reality. Sometimes looking at the world in a different perspective is all you need.

The only downsides I would say are the costs and the appearance. It costs $1500, so I would recommend waiting for the 2nd or even third generation. Also the appearance looks kind of nerdy. If you could customize it to any glasses, then that would be perfect. Also it isn’t truly efficient as it can’t fully do everything your cell phone can, so you will have to carry your smart phone around too. However, it does have its perks such as seeing a place or image through another person’s eyes.

Here is a sneak peak of what the glasses can do!

The Next Generation

This inspired me to write this post. The world is advancing faster than you know it. A generation ago, no one really used computers or cellphones, but in such a short time span now everyone uses them. Back when my mom was a child, she never even heard of a cell phone. I wonder what the world has in store for us. Technology is progressing at startling rate. We may think that the new Iphones or computers that recently came out are amazing. They are ingenious for the current day, but in the future we will look back and notice how ancient they are just like how people today look back on VCRs and record players. It is almost scary to see how fast our world is advancing.

What the future has in store for us is a mystery.

The 3D Printer- Printing paper is not the only things printers can do

This really blew my mind. There will be all types of things printers will be able to print. All you will need to do is to scan what you want to be printed! In this video, it shows how a wrench is printed from a 3D printer. That is pretty awesome. It’ll save lots of time and effort. The invention can scan anything and reprint it. Can you think of all the applications that can be used? What if someone makes a huge 3D printer that could print out buildings or houses. Human labor will be reduced all around the world. If you lose something, you could just reprint it.

If you are still interest in a 3D printer, then watch this! This shows a 3D printer that can print out a human kidney! If we prefect this innovation, then many lives will be able to be saved. We will be able to print out any organs that we need.

Is Productivity killing Creativity?

Currently, our life deals with technology everywhere. Everyone has a cellphone, T.V., or some kind of technological device. We spend our time going on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, etc. If we are doing all these things, when do we have the time to think? People should give time to themselves every day to just relax and think about anything.

Google is a huge industry. They have been creating and promoting new ideas since day 1. Their employees have a lot of benefits. In order to improve creativity, their employees do not work all the time. They have game rooms and gyms in the work area in order to allow the employees to rest and have fun.

How simple ideas lead to scientific discoveries

Every second of the day, people around the planet are thinking of new ideas. In just a century, humankind has evolved immensely. New innovative technology that we wouldn’t have ever dreamed of having is now accessible to the public. Have you ever questioned how people come up with such brilliant ideas? All of these ideas spark from small questions that ask why? Whether it is about wondering why a ball rolls back in a wagon or about an observation of a well, we can use these questions in order to develop and form ideas that can lead to greater technological advances. I hope this video will inspire you to ask questions and wonder about the world. We are not so different from these discoverers. All they did was just “think a little bit harder and were just a little bit more curious.” Anybody can do it. It is all up to you. It is in your ideas that will help change the world.
